How long have you been working at the Renaissance? 5 years – I think I always knew I wanted to go into the hospitality industry. I was in banking, but I realized something was missing. So I took a few hospitality classes!
What’s the favorite part of your job? Seeing every guest’s dream moment come true. It’s their special occasion, and they’re happy and dancing. I’m the type of person who is happy when other people are happy. The energy and feelings they bring into every event are so amazing. It’s incredible to be a part of special days, and some moments always stand out. For weddings, it’s when the bride and groom dance for the first time. Or the little moment when they come and thank you for making everything happen for them.
What’s your favorite type of wedding you’ve planned? I love our New Year’s Eve weddings. The hype of New Year’s Eve is great, everybody is so excited because it’s New Year’s Eve. Everyone’s partying, and everybody wants to have a good time. We also do fireworks across the street to add to the whole celebration.
What makes the Renaissance Allentown stand out from other venues in the area? Everything is stress-free from the moment they come and do a site visit or all the way until the day of the wedding. I’m there for them, and I help them through this whole process. Venue-wise, there are not many hotels in the Lehigh Valley like us. We’re industrial modern or more hip, and the city vibe brings people in. If they want to go bar hopping afterward, they can go out to a bar. You don’t have to go to New York or Philly, you have it right here in Allentown. Also, we have a balcony it makes it even better because you could have an inside/outside event.
