Happy Holidays from City Center Residential! We have lots of fun planned in December, from a cookie-decorating class to a gift-wrapping party. Keep reading to learn about all the festivities happening this month!

Peanuts Christmas Cookie Decorating Class with Well Hello Cookie

Come to the Hub at Cityplace on Wednesday, December 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. to learn how to decorate Peanuts Christmas-themed cookies with Well Hello Cookie. Your ticket includes instructions on decorating your themed cookies, six cookies, icing and bags, a wooden cookie scribe, tray and lid, practice sheet, napkin, and picture template. You may bring one non-City Center resident guest. Use the special code on the Cobu App to purchase tickets.

Gift Wrapping Party

Join us on Thursday, December 5, at 7 p.m. for a nightt of gift wrapping with your building neighbors! A variety of festive wrapping paper, tape, scissors, bows and tags will be available for residents to bring their presents to the event to enjoy an evening of wrapping gifts together. Holiday Bus Trip To New York City

Enjoy a festive day in New York City to celebrate the holiday season! A J&J Luxury Transportation bus will be picking up residents on Saturday, December7, at a to be determined location downtown at 7:30 a.m. to depart at 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 7 and will drop off at Bryant Park, New York City around 11:00 a.m. for a full open day of adventuring in the city. The bus will pick up residents at Bryant Park at 6:00 p.m. and return back to Allentown at 9:00 p.m. A suggested itinerary of how to spend a festive day in the city will be available. Allentown Holiday Tree Lighting

Step into a winter wonderland as we light up the heart of Allentown with holiday magic! Powered by PPL, we’re bringing our community together for a joyful celebration on Saturday, December 7th from 4-7 PM in The Arts Park. Introduction to Mindful Eating

Come to the Cityplace Flex Space on Tuesday, December 10, at 6:30 p.m. for the fourth class of a five-part series covering a variety of mindfulness topics from Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Center for Mindfulness. Rediscover the joy of eating for nourishment and pleasure. When you become aware of your eating habits, you can more easily connect with what your body is telling you it needs. You’ll learn how mindfulness can be applied to eating and how it can help lay the groundwork for a positive relationship with food. RSVP on the Cobu App.

Butterhead Kitchen: Holiday Entertaining Cooking Demo

Enjoy a vegan demo-style cooking and tasting experience with Butterhead Kitchen on Wednesday, December 11, at 6;30 p.m.! All dishes are prepared vegan, but non-vegans are welcome to attend! The menu will feature Herbes De Provence Cashew Cheese Tart with Fig, Minestrone Soup with Walnut Parmesan, and Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake Parfait. Jason of Butterhead Kitchen will teach you how to make the dish and you will enjoy a tasting of each menu item, feel free to BYOB! Tickets are $10. Resident Night at Illumination at Coca-Cola Park

A walk through holiday lights experience is coming to Coca-Cola Park for the first-time ever! We are offering residents discounted tickets for Thursday, December 12, at 6 p.m. Your ticket will include: access to the walk through holiday lights experience, firepits for s’mores roasting, fun festive photo opportunities, carolers, igloos and more holiday experiences. Seasonal food and drink will be available for purchase. Only 70 tickets available. A Cobu RSVP does not secure your spot, you must purchase a $5 ticket on Eventbrite to secure your ticket. Neighborhood Stroll: Walking Tour & Free Coffee!

Want to tour your new city with your neighbors? Join us for an insider tour from a resident ambassador on Saturday, December 14, at 9:30 a.m.! Meet us at Starbucks at 7th & Hamilton Street at 9:30 a.m. for a free coffee, then at 10:00 a.m. we’ll show you all our favorite places including dog parks, spots to catch live music, eateries, and more! Treat Yourself Tuesday: DIY Holiday Cookie Boxes

Enjoy Treat Yourself Tuesday with some DIY Cookie Boxes! DIY Cookie Decorating Boxes from The Farm Bakery & Events will be available in select building lobbies on Tuesday, December 17 and will be available first-come, first-served. Deliveries will begin at 4:00 p.m. at 1010 and make their way through the list in order below and should be all set up by 6:00 p.m.. We anticipate treats to go quickly, so we recommend arriving as early as possible. You can follow along the Cobu feed as we post finished deliveries and what buildings we are heading to next. Please understand we have over 500 boxes to set up in 7 buildings, so we ask that you are patient and respectful. Boxes will include 2 gingerbread cookies and 2 sugar cookies with icing, decorative trim and sprinkles. Reminder that boxes are first-come, first-served and to be respectful and fair to your neighbors by only taking one box per person! RSVP on the Cobu App.

Downtown Allentown New Year’s Eve Celebration

Witness the history in the heart of Allentown to welcome in 2025! Thanks to the PPL Center and the Phantoms, Allentown is home to the largest puck drop in the world. Countdown the last seconds of 2024 with meLVin, live music entertainment, giveaways, concessions, and much more! This is a free, community event hosted by DABA in support of the local companies, retail, and restaurant establishments along Hamilton Street in Downtown Allentown. Free & Open to the Public.
